I don't know what started this, but it was after the first reboot since getting some updates (none of which seemed related at all, but who knows). I've tried to evaluate if it was '''ffmpeg''' playing up, but '''mpeg2enc''' gives the same error. I've tried to install the latest tovid 0.33, with no change, and then completely purged my system of tovid, tovidGUI and todiscGUI, then installed 0.31 from scratch, but the problem persists.

I've put up with and learned to work around a couple of bugs or quirks in the programming, but now this has rendered tovidGUI unusable. I know that if I try and mix full-screen and widescreen, the process will fail, so can assure you it isn't that. I've learned that certain characters movie clip's menu item name will cause a failure, so it isn't that either. And I can tell you I have changed nothing in how I've been (successfully) using this program for the last few years. All I did is reboot (and yeah, rebooted a few more times, but no magic fix, hehe).

Forums: Index Help desk TovidGUI 0.31 Can't Find Output File It Is Trying to Create

Well, I've been using tovidGUI successfully for a couple of years or more, and all of a sudden after a reboot, I can no longer convert any vids to a DVD project. Basically, the whole process only lasts a few seconds because only the menu is created, and immediately upon trying to convert the first vid, it finishes with an error popup:

Error(s) occurred during encoding. If you want to
help improve this software, please file a bug report
containing a copy of the output log. Unfortunately,
this also means you won't be able to continue to
burning your disc. Sorry for the inconvenience!

... with the last lines displayed in tovidGUI being:

Adding a titleset-level menu using file: /home/ozzman/Cache/Untitled_menu_1.mpg
The file /home/ozzman/Cache/Chuck.S03E18.HDTV.XviD-LOL.avi.tovid_encoded.mpg was not found. Exiting.

Note that it doesn't matter where the source files are, or what they're called, it will now always complain it couldn't find the destination file of the first one it is about to start converting.

I don't know what started this, but it was after the first reboot since getting some updates (none of which seemed related at all, but who knows). I've tried to evaluate if it was ffmpeg playing up, but mpeg2enc gives the same error.

I've learned that certain characters in a movie clip's menu item name will cause a failure, so it isn't that either. And I can tell you I have changed nothing in how I've been (successfully) using this program for the last few years. All I did is reboot (and yeah, rebooted a few more times, but no magic fix, hehe).

Anyone know anything I can do to correct this. Happy to supply logs etc, so just tell me where to find them if need be. Many thanks in advance!

(I may as well post the error log below, to save people asking for it:)
